From The President’s Desk – 12/15/2025
Welcome to The Mountain Club on Loon Owners’ Portal. We hope you find this site informative concerning your vacation condominium as it relates to annual budgets, Board meeting minutes and other information. Those who attended the 2025 Annual Meeting were informed by Joey Bonang that he had decided to not run for re-election. On behalf of the Board and Mountain Club staff, I would like to thank Joey for his 18 years of dedication to the Mountain Club and we will certainly miss his leadership. Ruth Lowe and her family entertained our community once again with the Quarter Share Fundraiser on Saturday evening following the Annual Meeting. We had a full house that contributed over $2,800 for the Ken Lowe Scholarship Fund. Each year this scholarship fund supports staff or immediate family of employees as they pursue higher education. Jeff McIver’s staff did a wonderful job having delicious food and beverages which added to a fun time. Again, thank you to Ruth and her family for that wonderful event.
During the annual meeting, we had the election of Board members who’s 4-year term had ended. We are delighted to have Jeff Owens re-elected. Jeff has a wealth of knowledge related to our property and has always applied sound financial and marketing skills in his decision making. In addition, we welcome Cathy Bonang as a new Board member. Although new to the Board Cathy has been involved behind the scenes ever since she and Joey purchased their vacation home over 20 years ago. Below are the members of the Board for the Unit Owners’ Association:
The Unit Owners’ Association has a wholly owned subsidiary, MonClub, whose purpose is operating the hotel, restaurants, and spa. The MonClub Corporation has a Board of 5 members, these include John Aber (Treasurer), Don Damon (President), Nancy Kaye, Mark Logan (Owner Representative), and Jeff Owens (Secretary). The Board, led by Don Damon, work closely with Jeff McIver and his team.
As we look ahead we are completing the last phase of the room renovations. Also planned is beginning the outdoors siding project. This is all dependent on timing, available funds, signing up with a contractor who will meet our pricing and ensure the least amount of disruption to the staff, owners and guest staying at the Mountain Club. Lastly, as you visit your vacation condominium please make a point to frequent the Bear’s Essentials and see the interesting variety of items such as the many choices of ice cream, and take advantage of your owner’s discount at the restaurants and spa. We are very fortunate to own at the Mountain Club and have an extremely dedicated staff managed by Jeff McIver and his team.
Sincerely –
Rod Pelletier
