Top 5 Fall Attractions near Lincoln, NH

Not long ago here at the Mountain Club blog, we put the spotlight on the magnificent autumn foliage our White Mountains wonderland wears this time of year (to the delight of leaf-peepers from near and far). Fall colors, however, are far from the season’s only highlight, though they provide the mesmerizing backdrop for all the others.

Here are five first-rate destinations to beeline for on your luxurious fall retreat at The Mountain Club on Loon Resort & Spa!

Windy Ridge Orchard (1775 Benton Rd, North Haverhill, NH)

Take your New Hampshire fall getaway into classic territory with a visit to Windy Ridge Orchard. The u-pick season among its apple orchards is just passed, but you can still pick up some delicious Honey Crisp, McIntosh, Macoun, and other varieties at the farm stand, and enjoy a fall feast at the Cider House Café.

The Hobo Railroad (64 Railroad St., Lincoln, NH)

If you’re staying with us at The Mountain Club on Loon with kids, the Hobo Railroad makes the perfect daytrip. Its Hobo Harvest Time Express train rides this time of year immerse you and the crew in the beauty (and fun) of the season, with such associated attractions as the “Scarecrows of the Small Screen” (from Batman and Robin to Mr. T and the Fonz), a pumpkin patch, antique tractors, and plenty of games.

Alpine Adventures (41 Main St., Lincoln, NH)

Crank up the fall thrills at Alpine Adventures, where you can take to the ziplines and other treetop adventure courses, sling your way around the BigAirBag Stunt Zone, and go off-roading aboard the impressive Swiss army vehicles known as Pinzgauers for some glorious views of the White Mountain skyline, fall canopies, and maybe a genuine New Hampshire moose.

Mystery NH (32 Mountain Valley Blvd., North Conway, NH)

Put your heads together and solve puzzles, challenges, and mysteries in the escape rooms of Mystery NH, which include Not All Superheroes Wear Capes and Blue Plate Special. It’s a unique way to spend an autumn afternoon—and stimulate that gray matter with some problem-solving teamwork!

Great Vermont Corn Maze (1404 Wheelock Rd, Danville, VT)

Take a trip across the border to the Green Mountain State and experience New England’s biggest corn maze. The Great Vermont Corn Maze also hosts the Dead North and CREEPY Farm installations this time of year for some good old-fashioned scare-your-socks-off Halloween delights.
