Fun Summer Date Ideas in the White Mountains

Crank up the romance on a getaway to New Hampshire’s swoon-tastic White Mountains, with the perfect accommodations for two here at The Mountain Club on Loon.

Now, you may be perfectly content to simply bask in our slopeside hospitality, spend quality time with one another doing nothing all that much at all. (And more on the joys of a couple’s stay here at The Mountain Club soon.) But if you do feel like dating it up out and about in these glorious mountains, here are a few ideas for things to do!

Drive the Kancamagus Scenic Byway

The 34.5-mile portion of New Hampshire Route 112 between Lincoln and Conway, passing through the splendor of the White Mountains National Forest (and right past The Mountain Club on Loon), makes one of the most celebrated drives in America. The two of you will love tooling along the Kancamagus Scenic Byway, reveling in the soaring mountains, the roaring rivers, and—of course—one another’s company.

Visit a Waterfall Together

Blessed with ample precipitation and steep drainages, the White Mountains host abundant waterfalls and cascades, including numerous seductive plunges within a short radius of The Mountain Club on Loon. Among the options are Georgiana FallsFranconia Falls, and Sabbaday Falls (the latter along the Kancamagus Highway).

Toast One Another With a Local Libation

Fine local winemakers, brewers, and distillers and their taprooms and tasting rooms provide go-to date options in the White Mountains. Right here in Lincoln, for example, you could do a wine tasting together at Seven Birches Winery, or sample the suds at the (appropriately named) One Love Brewery.

Take in a Sunset

The White Mountains look amazing anytime of day, but naturally it’s hard to beat sunset for maximum romantic ambience. You’re spoiled for choices in terms of good sunset vantages close by: from the top of Loon Peak to Artist’s Bluff in Franconia Notch State Park.
