Family Friendly Hotel near Biking Trails in Lincoln, NH

With the scenic glories of the White Mountains framing it, Lincoln, New Hampshire is an absolutely fantastic New England center for outdoor recreation, and among the standout activities is bicycling.

We’re once again in the changeover from ski season to bike season here in the shadow of Loon Mountain, and as a guest of ours here at the Mountain Club on Loon you’re spectacularly set up to do some world-class pedaling in this Northern Appalachian kingdom of ours. Some awesome options for cycling await you just minutes from your luxury accommodations here at our slopeside hotel.

Biking at Loon Mountain

Loon Mountain is very much a multifaceted outdoors destination, and alongside world-class skiing, snowboarding, ziplining, and other fun it offers plentiful opportunities for two-wheeled, pedal-powered action.

Here you’ll find an extensive network of cross-country multiuse trails adapted from historic logging tracks that weave from the banks of the Pemigewasset River up the slopes of Black Mountain. Intermediate and advanced cyclists will relish these lovely routes, the trailhead for which is just a stone’s throw from the Mountain Club on Loon.

You can also ride the easy, paved riverside path shadowing the Pemigewasset a couple of miles into downtown Lincoln. Among the rentable Loon Mountain bicycle fleet are e-bikes that employ Hybrid Cycling Technology, which can make for an easy-peasy return to Loon Mountain from shopping and dining in Lincoln.

In an exciting development, Loon Mountain broke ground in May 2019 on a 15-mile-plus network of downhill mountain-biking trails. After this project is fully completed, Loon Mountain will get to boast the most extensive system of combined downhill and cross-country biking trails in the Granite State!

Franconia Notch to Loon Mountain

The Loon Mountain Adventure Center also provides a fantastic adventure in the form of a bike ride between Franconia Notch State Park and Loon Mountain. This 16-mile route shows off our New England scenery to the fullest. You’ll be able to ride a shuttle to Franconia Notch—a historically significant White Mountain pass to the north of Lincoln—and then bike your way back to Loon Mountain via the Franconia Notch Bike Path, Lincoln-area roads, and the paved Pemigewasset path leading to the resort.
