New Hampshire Skiing, Snowboarding, and More on Loon Mountain
Opened in 1966, Loon Mountain offers some of the most celebrated skiing in the Northeast across three peaks: North, Loon, and South mountains. Here you’ve got among the most significant vertical in the region at your disposal—2,100 feet, to be exact—across some 370 skiable acres. The 61 trails come nicely spread between Beginner, Intermediate, and Expert levels, and among the seven terrain parks, you’ll find the only Superpipe in New Hampshire (at Loon Mountain Park).
In a typical year, Loon Mountain receives about 160 inches of snowfall (reinforced by extensive snowmaking capabilities). This season has already been a fantastic one in the white-stuff department, with nearly 150 inches already recorded as of February 20th.
Besides downhill skiing and snowboarding, Loon Mountain beckons with extensive cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trail networks stretching from the Pemigewasset River up to the flanks of Black Mountain. Throw in the delights of the Loon Tubing Center and the Loon Adventure Center’s outdoor ice-skating rink—not to mention the lessons offered at the Loon Mountain Ski School—and you’ve got unbeatable snow sports fun for all ages.
