“If we couldn't laugh we would all go insane.” -- Robert Frost
In my opinion, truer words have never been spoken. I truly believe that laughter is the best medicine. In fact, I have been known to peddle this powerful drug wherever I go. That’s right, I am guilty of possession with intent to distribute! It is “good for what ails you”!
I get such a feeling of accomplishment from making someone laugh, especially if they are someone who is not easily amused. I think of it as a personal challenge and make it my goal to leave them in stitches!
While I have never heard of laughter actually curing anything, it certainly can’t hurt and there are some health benefits! This article illustrates this point quite nicely.
Aside from the health benefits, the social applications are endless. Laughter is universal and bridges so many gaps! Laughter brings people together. People want to be around those who make them laugh. Entire relationships can be built on laughter, whether they are personal or business relationships, laughter keeps things light and keeps people from taking themselves too seriously.
Think about how great you feel after you have had a good laugh. Think about how great you feel when you make someone else laugh. It feels great! Try and make someone laugh every day and make sure that you yuk it up yourself every day!
Below are some thoughts about laughter from some pretty influential minds. Think about it. Make someone laugh, make yourself laugh; if you make someone else laugh, you will both be happy.
