How to Make a Memory
by Amanda Houston
I had a really sweet thought brought to my attention today and I think it is worth passing along, especially this time of year.
Karen, one of my wonderful coworkers and fan of my blog, said that she and her family focus on making a memory during the Holidays. They come up with an activity that they can all do together and just enjoy their time doing it. Making a memory!
It has been my experience that the things we do to try and make time with family special often become tradition, things that we just have to do every year because everyone has so much fun when we do it. Year after year we talk about things that happened while we were all together and doing whatever the activity is.
Karen gave me great example of a memory making activity that she and her family did one year in a hotel where they were staying in a large suite all together.
They got bottles of water, glow sticks and rubber balls that lit up when bounced. They put the glow sticks in the water bottles, turned off all the lights and bowled! What a great idea!
We have many repeat guests every year that have made a visit to the White Mountains, and a stay here with us, a family tradition. While they all may have different reasons for doing it, I would suspect that the outcome is still the same; they make memories here!
Where and how will you be making your memories this Holiday Season?
